Former Celtic youth striker Finnbogason, 23, could make his debut in Saturday afternoon's Scottish Premier League game at Dundee United if international clearance arrives in time. Icelandic striker Finnbogason joined Celtic in 2005 from hometown club KR Reykjavik, scoring 28 goals in 20 reserve games. He left Parkhead last year and has since netted nine times in 22 appearances in the Norwegian Premier League and had trial spells this summer with Bristol City and IFK Gothenburg. Falkirk head of football development Ross Wilson revealed the club had been working to secure the services of Finnbogason for some time. He told his club's official website: "I think Kjartan was becoming frustrated that it could not happen quickly and showed a real desire to want to come to Falkirk, despite strong interest from Norway and from England. "We wanted to sign Kjartan for a longer period than this original agreement, but at this stage that is not possible due to Norwegian transfer regulations." Falkirk signed Finnbogason's fellow striker Danijel Marceta this summer on a similar, option-to-buy agreement from Partizan Belgrade.
