Ten-man Raith hit back twice to slow Falkirk's promotion push

Promotion hopefuls Falkirk's winless run continued as they were held 2-2 at home by 10-man Raith.

Falkirk, who were without a victory in three Championships games, twice managed to take the lead on Saturday through Blair Alston and David McCracken.

However, Raith responded both times through James Craigen and Mark Stewart and, despite Kyle Benedictus being shown a straight red card in the 83rd minute for his challenge on Myles Hippolyte, Rovers held on for a point.

Alston opened the scoring in the third versus fourth clash at Falkirk Stadium in the 14th minute when he slotted home a Lee Miller through-ball.

Raith were level two minutes later, Craigen firing home from the edge of the box, but Falkirk were back in front by the 20th minute thanks to a McCracken header.

Rovers, who had picked up just one point in their previous four games without managing a single goal, salvaged a draw when Stewart netted in the 68th minute.
