Dunfermline 1-1 Falkirk: Report

15 February 2011 22:14
Kirk on the mark as Pars draw Andy Kirk scored five minutes from time to handed Dunfermline a share of the spoils in their 1-1 draw with Falkirk at East End Park. Thomas Scobbie's late strike looked to have been enough for a Falkirk win but Kirk fired in Steven McDougall's cross to snatch a point. Falkirk were almost ahead on eight minutes when Brian McLean's sweetly-struck volley cannoned back off the post. Set-pieces were the main route to goal and it was from a corner that Liam Buchanan headed just wide for the hosts. The second period offered little in the way of chances but the Bairns swooped and Scobbie was on hand to poach the loose ball home from six yards in the 79th minute. But the Pars fought back to earn a draw when McDougall's centre allowed Kirk to finish.
