Aberdeen have completed the widely-anticipated signing of free agent veteran defender Jackie McNamara.
The 33-year-old former Scotland international decided to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers following their failure to win promotion to the Premiership and has agreed a two-year contract with the Dons.
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has long been an admirer of the former Celtic defender.
"I have always admired the style of play here at Aberdeen. I'm glad to come here and enjoy the football that I will be playing and I feel it is a great move at this stage in my career," he told the club's official website.
"I spoke to Jimmy and, despite there being many other offers, he is the only manager I have actually had talks with.
"Like I say, I admire the style of play at the club and from playing against them in the past I know that it was never an easy game to come out and play against Aberdeen."
