Cup progress pleases Hughes

Manager John Hughes was delighted to see his Falkirk side reach a second cup semi-final of the season by beating Inverness Caley Thistle 1-0 in their Scottish Cup quarter-final.

A Carl Finnigan penalty was enough to sink the Highlanders and leave Hughes happy with the Bairns' cup exploits.

He said: "I'm pleased for the boys as it is the first time the club has been in two semi-finals in one season.

"So, once again in the six years that I have been here, we've put something into the history books.

"If we can get one or two wins in the league, then it could turn into a right good season for us."
