Cowdenbeath 1-2 Falkirk: Report

16 April 2011 19:59
Bairns keep hopes alive Falkirk came from behind to secure a 2-1 win at Cowdenbeath which gave their faint promotion chances a glimmer of hope. A pair of second-half goals - within four minutes of each other - from Mark Stewart and Brian McLean puts the Bairns eight points behind leaders Dunfermline. Cowdenbeath had started the better of the two sides. They dominated the opening exchanges and deservedly went ahead when Greg Stewart met Lewis Coult's cross in the 32nd minute. But the strugglers could not build on their lead and Ryan Flynn found Stewart well-placed to nod home the leveller with 25 minutes left. The Blue Brazil were left reeling when poor defending allowed McLean to head in from close range after he had been picked out by Mark Millar. The hosts piled forward in search of a leveller but Steven Pressley's side held on for the win.
