Barr pens new Bairns deal

Falkirk defender Darren Barr has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract.

The 22-year-old centre-half will now remain at Falkirk Stadium until summer 2010 after successfully making the transition from youth academy to first-team regular.

"He has shown tremendous desire and attitude to succeed and is a great example to all of our young players," manager John Hughes told the club's official website.

Barr himself added: "Having just completed my first full season playing in the first team, I hope that I can continue to set the high standards that I have targeted myself."
