Barr attracts interest

Falkirk boss John Hughes has admitted that he has had three enquiries for highly-rated defender Darren Barr.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season with the Bairns after impressing during a loan spell with Forfar Athletic last term.

Hughes admitted after the 1-0 win against champions-elect Celtic: "I've had two calls from England for Darren and one from this country. I don't think I'll have him with me for much longer."

Meanwhile, Hughes could not understand why the referee felt compelled to send two players off and book seven other players in the victory against the Bhoys.

"I'm bamboozled by the referee," he said. "You have to be allowed to tackle and compete.

"It wasn't a dirty game and cards are handed out far too easily in my opinion. It's handbags stuff most of the time."
