Falkirk have handed a new one-year contract to Portuguese forward Pedro Moutinho.
The 26-year-old has only scored twice this season, but Bairns boss John Hughes says recovery from a long-term injury has hampered his progress.
He said: "Pedro had a horrific injury last season, which took its toll.
"The player has shown great determination to stay here and I feel it's only in the last few months we've seen him get back to something like his old self."
Meanwhile, Hughes is already looking forward to next season, having guided Falkirk to safety on their return to the SPL.
"We knew how difficult it was going to be, but we got better as the season went on," Hughes added. "Of course, we are pleased to survive and it will be the same next year.
"We can't afford to stagnate on or off the park, we need to keep driving the club forward."
