Falkirk have decided to launch an appeal after Arnau Riera was controversially sent off in Saturday's SPL clash with St Mirren.

The Spaniard was dismissed for an alleged elbow on the Buddies' Andy Dorman and faces a two-match suspension.

However, the Bairns will use DVD evidence and press reports as part of their appeal.

A club spokesman said: "We believe the red card was harsh. That opinion has been backed up by Gus MacPherson's comments."
