Bairns extend Krul loan deal

Falkirk have successfully extended the loan stay of Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old Dutchman originally joined the Bairns in August and has made 23 appearances for the SPL club.

Krul was sent off in the last minute of Wednesday's 1-0 victory at Kilmarnock.

"It's great news because Tim has been excellent for us," manager John Hughes told the club's official website.

"I think the boy would agree that he's learning a lot as well as enjoying himself here.

"It seems to have dragged on a bit, but at the end of the day you have to understand that Newcastle United are a massive club and it takes time for these deals to come through the system.

"We're just pleased to have his services until the season ends."
