Bairns appeal Barr card
21 Jan 2007 - 14:58:03
Falkirk boss John Hughes will appeal against the red card shown to young defender Darren Barr in the 1-0 defeat at Hearts.
Barr was dismissed in the final minute of the game at Tynecastle for an alleged headbutt at Andrius Velicka, but Hughes is adamant his player was hard done to.
He fumed: "For the sending-off I think the referee totally got conned.
"From where I was standing Darren never did anything. For the referee to be conned and fall for it is disappointing. The referee said he stuck the head on him.
"I'm unhappy at both the referee and the player. I expect better from a professional, even the Scots boys in the Hearts team were laughing coming off.
"I am 100 per cent appealing, because that is not happening to a guy in my team who is as honest as the day is long. He's not getting done like that, it's an injustice."
