Bairns agree to keep Krul

Newcastle United have allowed teenage goalkeeper Tim Krul to remain on loan at Falkirk until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has been a regular in John Hughes' starting plans, but was meant to return to the Premier League side in January.

Hughes is delighted with the news, telling the Daily Record: "Tim's definitely staying. He's been absolutely fantastic and is up there with the best of them.

"He's a right good lad and he's one who, with his ability, is capable of playing at a higher level."

Meanwhile, the Bairns have allowed midfielder Liam Craig to join St Johnstone on a month's loan.
