The 20-year-old joined Partizan on a four-year contract in February and made his Serbian Super Liga debut in April. The Bairns' head of football development, Ross Wilson, told his club website: "We have negotiated a package that allows the player to join us initially for the season ahead. "But we have also negotiated a figure should Danijel and Falkirk wish to extend this on a permanent basis." Marceta, who has represented Slovenia at under-21 level, moved to Partizan from hometown club Triglav Kranj, scoring four goals in 37 appearances. "Partizan rate Danijel highly but have a number of outstanding young players over there and Danijel has become frustrated at not being able to play as regularly as he would hope," said Wilson. "Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic, who have recently moved to Manchester United, underline the calibre of player they have at the club and are testimony to the magnificent work that they have carried out at youth level. "Danijel is an international player at under-21 level with Slovenia and will progress to their senior team, there is no doubt about that." Marceta is expected to join up with his new team-mates at the Bairns' training base at Stirling on Monday. He is ineligible for the second leg of Falkirk's Europa League second-round qualifier on Thursday against Vaduz in Liechtenstein.
