The result meant Hughes' team were still four points behind their hosts in 11th place in the SPL.[LNB]But it preserved their record of having lost only to Rangers in league and cup ties in their eight matches since the turn of the year.[LNB]Andy Dorman scored a double for St Mirren in what was only the second game at their new ground, but his goals in each half were cancelled out by Carl Finnigan and then Arfield's spot-kick after Jack Ross' handball.[LNB]Hughes said: "We wanted to get three points and tuck right in behind them, but St Mirren were certainly the better side in the second half.[LNB]"It's disappointing to lose two goals. I felt the first was self-inflicted, and for the second, I was looking for someone to get a block in.[LNB]"But the players showed plenty of character - as they have done since the start of the year - to come away from home, come from behind and score two goals.[LNB]"In terms of playing football properly, I've seen us better, but in my time at the club, I've seen us play some absolutely fantastic stuff and come away empty-handed, so we'll take the point and move on."[LNB]Hughes, who has also overseen a club's move to a new stadium, added: "The pitch was beautiful and it's a nice stadium.[LNB]"Comparing it to our own new stadium at Falkirk, it took us a real while to win there - a long, long time - and I just wonder if St Mirren are going to have that problem as well because everybody likes coming here and we'll certainly look forward to it next time."[LNB]Opposite number Gus MacPherson was disappointed not to have taken all three points, having twice been ahead thanks to Dorman's double.[LNB]However, he heaped praise on the midfielder, who took his goal tally for the season to six.[LNB]The Bairns boss said: "We're disappointed not to see the game out; we played pretty well and I was happy with the performance.[LNB]"But when you play to that level, you certainly want to take the three points.[LNB]"As a team, we passed the ball extremely well and in the second half there was a lot to be pleased about.[LNB]"I haven't seen the penalty incident - I spoke to Jack afterwards and he thinks it maybe hit him high up on the shoulder.[LNB]"But there weren't too many other complaints and it's impossible to see from the dugout area where the contact has been.[LNB]"Andy did what he's been doing well in recent months by making these runs from the middle of the park, and we just encourage him to keep doing that.[LNB]"Everybody knows that's his game, making runs to support the strikers; there are very few, if any, players prepared to make those runs now so he's certainly a threat from the middle of the park.[LNB]"The timing of the run for the first goal was superb; he just gambled and when he gets into those areas, he shows great composure."[LNB]MacPherson also praised new defender Mo Camara, saying: "He defended properly, showed a lot of composure, supported play on the left and can be happy with his debut,"[LNB]He added that Steven Robb, who was stretchered off after just 10 minutes, had suffered a hamstring injury.[LNB][LNB]
