Arfield expected to focus

Falkirk boss Eddie May is confident that midfielder Scott Arfield will be able to focus after seeing a move to Hibernian fail to materialise.

The 20-year-old has also been the subject of interest from Hamilton Academical, but has remained with the Bairns for the time being.

May said: "I don't think it's going to unsettle him.

"No disrespect, but if you're talking an (English) Premier League team, maybe, but not another team in Scotland.

"Like the Hamilton one, it was never a goer anyway, so there is no reason to get unsettled. It wasn't as if Falkirk were ever considering it.

"As (Hibs chief executive) Rod Petrie said when he came off the phone to our managing director 'I wouldn't have taken that deal anyway'.

"So I think that tells you everything."
