Falkirk rejected a £250,000 offer - which would have risen by £50,000 if Arfield had made 60 appearances for Hibs - just before the window closed.[LNB]Several Championship clubs also expressed an interest in the Scotland Under-21 midfielder but none came in with a suitable offer.[LNB]Falkirk also rejected a bid from Hamilton earlier in the summer, with chairman Martin Ritchie claiming he thought Accies had missed out a zero from their offer.[LNB]May revealed the Hibernian bid came nowhere near their valuation and claimed that Easter Road chairman Rod Petrie feared his approach was doomed to failure.[LNB]The Bairns boss has since spoken to Arfield about his future and is confident the 20-year-old will be fully focused when Falkirk take on Aberdeen in the SPL on Monday night.[LNB]"I don't think it's going to unsettle him," said May.[LNB]"No disrespect, but if you're talking an (English) Premiership team, maybe, but not another team in Scotland.[LNB]"Like the Hamilton one, it was never a goer anyway, so there is no reason to get unsettled.[LNB]"It wasn't as if Falkirk were ever considering it.[LNB]"As Rod Petrie said when he came off the phone to our managing director, 'I wouldn't have taken that deal anyway'.[LNB]"So I think that tells you everything."[LNB][LNB] Aberdeen 11/8, Falkirk 2/1, Draw 9/4
