Arfield relishing 'massive game'

Arfield helped the Bairns to their best result of the season so far when they drew with Celtic at the weekend.[LNB]Arfield's side, bottom of the Scottish Premier League, have yet to secure their first win of the campaign but Sunday's epic 3-3 draw with the Hoops has given Eddie May's men a massive boost and some might say the international break has come at the wrong time.[LNB]Arfield - who netted from the penalty spot against Tony Mowbray's men - now hopes they will be able to produce a repeat of those efforts when they face Hamilton in a crucial match next week.[LNB]But, for now, the talented youngster is relishing a break from the SPL as he prepares to travel to Azerbaijan with a Scotland U21 side who, in stark contrast to Falkirk, sit joint top of their qualifying group for the UEFA Under-21 Championship.[LNB]He said: "We haven't won this year at Falkirk but the game on Sunday was a great game to play in and we fully deserved the point, if not more.[LNB]"Chris Mitchell played in the game as well and the two of us are buzzing. It was a great result for us. The next game is against Hamilton and that's one we are looking forward to.[LNB]"But this is a massive game as well and one we want to play in as well. We have to leave league form out of it, it's about international football now. When you are younger, you always want to represent your country.[LNB]"To do it just a step away from the full team is a great achievement and it's something that we are very proud and privileged to be part of."[LNB]Arfield admits he knows little about their hosts this weekend but is happy to leave the homework to boss Billy Stark.[LNB]He said: "It is a bit daunting, I don't know anything about them at all. I'm not a Google person to be honest! But we have watched a couple of their games and they looked a decent team.[LNB]"It's one that we are looking forward to and hopefully we can get the three points. Most people would think Scotland should be beating Azerbaijan but football doesn't always pan out like that. We have watched some of their games and they are a good team so it will be hard but we are going there looking to win."[LNB]Scotland, Belarus and Austria all sit level on nine points so far and Arfield believes the double-header with Azerbaijan will be crucial to their qualification hopes.[LNB]He said: "I think it's one we need to win. We went to Austria and dominated for large spells but just didn't get the win, we got beat 1-0. This is our next trip away and it's a game we are looking for the three points from."[LNB][LNB] Azerbaijan U21 v Scotland U21. Click here to bet.
