    Tisdale running rule over duo

    21 Aug 2009 - 13:28:39

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale is nearing a decision whether to offer contracts to trialist pair Wayne Gray and Daniel Connor.

Tisdale is pondering whether to add Gray to his frontline, while Connor would provide competition for the gloves in goal.

Though Tisdale has admitted the need to add to his squad, but has not yet decided whether to offer the Gray a deal.

However, he praised the 28-year-old former Leyton Orient striker.

"Wayne has spent a few days with us. We have had a few down here over the last few weeks, there is nothing lost. You can only gain out of it. We will see what comes of it," Tisdale told Western Morning News.

"He is hard-working and would do a team job from the front, which is a prerequisite, otherwise you won't be part of a team."

Tisdale confirmed that a decision on Connor was close.

"We need to get back to him by the end of the week," he added of the Cork City shot stopper.

"We haven't made our mind up with him. He has certainly fitted in around the place, he just needs to fit with the dynamics of it all.

"Goalkeepers are very difficult, because there's only one place on the pitch for them and you have to work the dynamic with the goalkeepers you have. But he's a really competent, serious professional player, so we'll see.
