Taylor happy for Grecians stay
15 Jul 2010 - 15:17:17
Exeter City captain Matt Taylor is doing his best to ignore the media rumours that suggest League One rivals Swindon Town are ready to test the Grecians' resolve with a bid for his services.
The 28-year-old defender proved to be a valuable asset for the southern club last term and, following Gordon Greer's transfer from the Robins to Brighton & Hove Albion, it is believed opposing manager Danny Wilson has him on his wish-list as he looks to plug the void.
But the centre-back is more concerned with Exeter's league campaign that begins at home to Colchester United on August 7.
Speaking to Express and Echo, he said: "If I am at Exeter at the start of the season then I will be delighted.
"People have mentioned things to me, but I am old enough not to take any notice. If something happens it happens, but I am not waiting by the phone or anything like that.
"I am contracted to Exeter and from my point of view until someone tells me differently I am an Exeter player."
