Strugglers Southend and Exeter had to make do with a point apiece after a dull goalless draw at Roots Hall.Scott Vernon enjoyed the best chance of the first-half but he shot straight at Exeter keeper Paul Jones. Jones kept his side in it after the restart, tipping a Francis Laurent shot over and twice saving from Vernon.
