Grecians still fighting
Exeter kept their faint hopes of League One survival alive with a comfortable 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Leyton Orient at St James' Park.
Jake Taylor opened the scoring inside four minutes for Exeter as he turned in from close range after good work by Alan Gow, who was a constant menace to the O's defence all afternoon.
Orient came close to equalising when Troy Archibald-Henville's superb goalline clearance came back off the underside of the crossbar, before Taylor hit the post at the other end for Exeter.
The second half belonged to the Grecians and Liam Sercombe made it 2-0 just before the hour mark when he latched onto a partially cleared corner and smashed an unstoppable shot into the corner from the edge of the penalty box.
Exeter saved the best for last, though, as Gow showed great skill and excellent vision to keep hold of the ball and fend off three Orient defenders. He fed James Dunne, who in turn slipped in Sercombe and he rifled an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net for his second goal of the game.
