Exeter City winger James Coppinger has been linked with a move to Irish side St Patrick's Athletic.
The 23-year-old has decided to leave St James' Park this summer, with his agent suggesting that other potential bidders have been put off by the prospect of going to a transfer tribunal.
Steven Denos told the Express & Echo: "At the moment a move to St Patrick's is his only option, so it looks like he will be doing that. He certainly won't be staying at Exeter.
"Doncaster were willing to settle the matter without involving a tribunal, but Exeter City want it to go to a tribunal and that's their decision.
"So by playing Russian Roulette, Doncaster have been put off and many other clubs aren't prepared to get involved with tribunals either."
