Tisdale pleased by Grecians

Paul Tisdale took heart from the performance of his Exeter side after seeing them suffer a 3-2 extra-time defeat at the hands of Ipswich in the first round of the Carling Cup. Ryan Harley scored twice for the Grecians, but the Championship side progressed courtesy of a header from substitute Ronan Murray and a brace from David Norris. Tisdale said: "It was a good performance and as a manager, you are always looking at the performance. I can be quite buoyed by the way we played and increasingly so, but we lost the game. "You don't want to be an optimistic loser. We played well and created chances, it was a good game of football, but we have just come up a little short. It was great entertainment and we went a long way with a very, very good Championship team. "I won't look back though because it is not in my nature. We played well and we look like a team that is developing. We gave it our best. I think you can look at things and have regrets, but that is not the case. We did a fine job, we just came up a little short. "Why won't people look at Ryan Harley? We have a few players that people want to talk about. He is a talented player and part of what we are about in developing players."
