Tisdale happy as Grecians earn win

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale felt his side deserved their victory over Charlton courtesy of Ryan Harley's controversial late penalty. The Grecians pocketed all three points after Harley netted from the spot following a foul on Jamie Cureton by Rob Elliot. "It was a deserved win," said Tisdale. "I think we would have been disappointed had we come in with a draw because I think we played with real conviction and we looked like the team most likely to win. I am delighted we won the game first and foremost and pleased it's our first win. "I think it was possibly a penalty. It was one of those that sometimes you get and sometimes you don't. We would have been disappointed if it had gone against us. It was a contentious and hugely important decision, but I think when you stand back, we deserved the win whether we had got the penalty or not. When you play with intensity and conviction, those things go for you."
