Nichols back for Grecians

Exeter will hope to have Tom Nichols available when they search for their first win of the campaign against York.

The City striker injured himself making a tackle in Saturday's 3-0 Devon derby defeat to Plymouth and was forced to sit out Tuesday's loss to Burton.

Graham Cummins was handed his full Grecians debut in Nichols' place and the former Preston man will hope to keep his place in Paul Tisdale's starting line-up.

Defenders Jordan Moore-Taylor and Christian Ribeiro and striker Jamie Reid remain sidelined once more but the likes of Aaron Davies and David Wheeler will hope to earn recalls.

Veteran shot-stopper Michael Ingham could start in goal for York after being brought on to replace Jason Mooney at half-time in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Cambridge.

Mooney looked all at sea as the Minstermen went 2-0 down and manager Nigel Worthington told The Press: "It was straight-forward, I had to make a change. Part of my job is making decisions and I am not afraid to make decisions if I think it is right for the team."

On Mooney, Worthington added: "I thought he looked very nervous. He is one of two keepers so when the opportunity comes again he has got to go and take it. He's a good keeper, there is no doubt about that, but you have to make it happen."

Striker Ryan Jarvis is still out with ankle ligament damage, but Jake Hyde and Wes Fletcher again showed their well-being after recovering from pre-season injuries by both getting on the scoresheet when rotated in midweek.
