Several set for Grecians bow

Exeter are expected to field several summer signings in their opening League Two derby clash with Yeovil.

New recruits Troy Brown, Manny Oyeleke and Rob Olejnik will be pushing to make their debuts.

Craig Woodman and summer signing Lee Holmes will be fit having overcome knocks sustained during pre-season. The Grecians' only injury absentee is Jordan Moore-Taylor, who has a foot problem.

Boss Paul Tisdale has said his side's other new recruit Will Hoskins may not be risked from the start in the first weeks of the season. The former Watford and Brighton man suffered a serious knee injury at the end of last term and is still regaining full fitness.

Yeovil boss Paul Sturrock's opening-day plans have been hit by injury to three key players as Ben Tozer, Jack Compton and Jordan Gibbons will all miss out.

Defender Tozer recently had surgery to repair knee cartilage damage and will be sidelined until September, winger Compton is struggling with a calf injury and midfielder Gibbons has a groin problem.

Midfielder Kevin Dawson is still four or five weeks away from a return following his long-term pelvic injury.

But Sturrock has been boosted by the return to contention of defender Ryan Dickson and summer signing Iffy Allen, who have both shaken off knocks.
