Gill back for Grecians

Matt Gill is set to make his return from injury when Exeter welcome Morecambe.

The former Bristol Rovers midfielder, who signed a deal with the Grecians earlier this month, had been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the win over Torquay in late December.

But having returned to the matchday squad against the Pirates last weekend he looks likely to return to playing action against a Shrimps side who beat the Grecians 2-0 earlier this season.

Defender Danny Coles played for an hour in the 2-1 loss to Bristol Rovers as he continued his return to match fitness following a knee operation and he looks likely to start once more.

Jim Bentley's injury list at Morecambe is piling up.

The Shrimps boss, working with one of the smallest squads in the Football League as it is, could be without as many as six players for the Sky Bet League Two match.

Full-back Robbie Threlfall (head), captain Mark Hughes (shin), winger Marcus Marshall (hamstring), defender Andy Parrish (ankle) and midfielder Ryan Williams (hamstring) could all be missing when Bentley selects his matchday squad.

There is also a doubt over midfielder Andy Wright (groin), although Bentley is ultimately more optimistic on his potential inclusion.
