Joel Grant eyeing return as Grecians host Grimsby

Exeter may have Joel Grant back in contention as they look for their first home points of the season against Grimsby.

Grant has been absent with a knock and there is an outside chance he will be fit in time for Saturday, but City boss Paul Tisdale will remain without all his other injured players.

Troy Brown, Troy Archibald-Henville, Ryan Harley and Tom McCready are all still unavailable.

Tisdale has the fit-again David Wheeler, Matt Oakley, Liam McAlinden, Connor Riley-Lowe and Pierce Sweeney to call on should he wish to make changes to his starting line-up.

Grimsby striker Omar Bogle is expected to recover from illness in time to return to contention.

Nine-goal striker Bogle missed the midweek Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Leicester but is back in full training.

Defender Josh Gowling played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night following a back injury and is expected to return to league action, but midfielder Sean McAllister is still out due to a recurrence of his groin injury.

Winger Ashley Chambers remains sidelined following surgery on a badly gashed thigh sustained during the recent home defeat to Hartlepool.
