Grecians plight easing

Exeter's injury crisis looks set to be easing ahead of their Capital One Cup clash with Bournemouth.

The Grecians, currently under a transfer embargo, had to name boss Paul Tisdale, 41, on their bench for the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth on Saturday as plenty of their squad struggled with a sickness bug.

Experienced pair Pat Baldwin and Craig Woodman played despite still being ill, along with a number of other players.

Liam Sercombe (hamstring) and Scot Bennett (groin) both started despite having only recently returned to training and the home-grown duo are set to keep their places but Jordan Moore-Taylor (metatarsal) remains sidelined.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe looks set to make 11 changes for the trip along the south coast.

The Cherries boss saw his side start their season in emphatic style with a 4-0 demolition of Huddersfield on Saturday but the former Burnley manager will be making wholesale changes.

Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas are set for their first starts for Bournemouth while the likes of Ian Harte, Brett Pitman and Adam Smith will hope to be given the nod.

Benjamin Buchel looks likely to make his first senior appearance for the Cherries in goal having impressed his manager during pre-season.
