Everton boss David Moyes is optimistic Joseph Yobo will be able to return to action against Fulham on Saturday.
The Nigerian defender sat out last weekend's 2-2 draw at West ham United after picking up a groin injury in training, but Toffees physio Mick Rathbone is pleased by the speed of his recovery.
"Joe just got a relatively minor injury to his groin towards the end of last week, it just wasn't quite right for Saturday," Rathbone told the club's official website.
"He is making good progress and I don't think he will be out too long and hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later."
Meanwhile, Yobo's defensive colleague Matteo Ferrari has returned to training after spending the past month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
