Everton face an anxious wait to discover whether Joseph Yobo will be fit for their next Premier League game after he pulled out of Nigeria's squad for Saturday's game against South Africa.
Yobo has featured in all three of the Toffees' opening league games this season, but could be set for a spell on the sidelines with a long-running ankle problem.
Everton's next game after the international break is a trip to Stoke City on September 14.
"I have been told to rest the leg to prevent a terrible outcome because I have been forcing it," revealed Yobo.
"The Nigeria Football Federation has been notified already and I must confess it hurts me to even train with it.
"I have been taking pain-killers and it's not great for the body."
