Everton defender Joseph Yobo has hit out at reports claiming that he is looking to leave Goodison Park.
Comments attributed to the Nigerian international suggested that he would leave the Toffees when his contract expired in 2007 and that he believed the club's off-field problems were preventing them strengthening their squad.
However, Yobo insists he never made those remarks and that he is enjoying life with Everton.
He told the club's official website: "I'm very upset with what has been said. I haven't spoken to anybody lately. I'm just concentrating on being here, I'm happy here. I've signed for Everton.
"I've always said I'm happy here. I've never talked about any other clubs. I'm very upset at the moment because I don't know where this is coming from.
"At the moment I've got a contract with Everton and I'm happy here. This is just ridiculous. Are people trying to get at me? I don't know, I don't know where the stories are coming from.
"Everyone knows I'm happy here. I've always said I'm happy at Everton and at this moment we've started well in the league.
"I'm very, very frustrated because I don't know where this is coming from and I'd be very happy to know where the source is coming from. I want to say to the supporters that I'm happy at Goodison."
The former Marseille star hopes to return to the Toffees line-up when they face Middlesbrough on Sunday, after missing the last two games with a knee injury.
