Yobo seeks missing element

Joseph Yobo admits Everton have been 'missing something' at the start of the 2009/10 campaign. The Toffees have endured a slow start to the new season, taking just one win from their opening four fixtures. That lack of success has left them languishing second from bottom in the Premier League table, with considerable ground already needing to be made up if they are to challenge for a top six finish. Yobo, a seasoned veteran at Goodison Park, admits performances have not been good enough so far, with Sunday's 2-1 reversal at Fulham the latest example of how David Moyes' men have been off the pace. "We should have done better," said the Nigeria international following the disappointing setback at Craven Cottage. "We should definitely have taken advantage when we had the lead. I don't know - maybe we are missing something at the minute. "It doesn't matter who plays or who is on the bench. We badly let ourselves down in the second half. We know that should have done better. "They put us under a lot of pressure but we should have been more ruthless but the games are coming thick and fast and we have to put this behind us." Next up for Everton is a Europa League clash with AEK Athens on Thursday, but Yobo admits continental competition cannot be allowed to distract from the pursuit of precious points on a domestic level. "We have got some important games coming up and we have got to get a win," he added. "But we need to win our next league game and get climbing the table. "We have had some bad starts before but we have always ended up picking ourselves up. That's what we have got to do again. We can't keep losing games and dropping points."
