We've been fair to Everton over Lescott chase, says City boss Hughes

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has insisted that he has done nothing wrong in pursuit of Everton defender Joleon Lescott. David Moyes has accused Hughes of being disrespectful by trying to lure Lescott to Eastlands over his head. But Hughes said: 'I can understand the frustration David is feeling at the moment, but at the end of the day our transfers are concluded at boardroom level anyway. 'I wasn't alluding to the fact that maybe David wasn't in charge of who comes and who goes. 'But at some point in the process, the guy who signs the contract or brings the contract to the table, they are the people you hand it over to.' City have had two bids rejected, but Hughes added: 'We still feel there is a little bit to go in terms of maybe what we can present to Everton to change their minds.'
