Vennegoor of Hesselink set for place on bench as Brown opts for Altidore

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is likely to be left out of Hull's team against Everton on Wednesday night.
Jozy Altidore, who was recently dropped by Phil Brown after angering him with a Twitter message, is back in the manager's good books after his recent efforts.
Dutchman Vennegoor of Hesselink has scored vital recent goals for his new club, sealing their wins against Wigan and Stoke - but the former Celtic striker is still facing a tough battle if he is to obtain a regular spot in the starting line-up.

Hull have experimented with different attacking combinations but afterSaturday's 3-3 draw with West Ham, Brown is happy with his latestchoice of front two - Altidore and Craig Fagan.
Brown said: 'They have formed a relationship with each other.Hopefully that partnership will blossom. Jozy just needs a goal. Hismatch fitness is better than ever, having played a full game againstStoke and then two full games for the USA..'
Brown admitted that he had a dilemma on his hands over whether tostart with Altidore in the last game against West Ham - as there weremany unanswered questions over the player, who may not have been readyfollowing international duty.
The Hull boss said: 'Could he last the full game? Did he want tostart the game? But the fact the USA played in Europe, as opposed toAmerica, meant it was almost an internal flight that he had - comingback from Denmark to England. So there were no questions about fatigueor jet lag and he wanted to play and I think he showed that.'
Last month, Brown was far less happy with Altidore after the on-loanVillareal forward posted a Twitter message explaining that he had beendropped for the Portsmouth game because he turned up late to the KCStadium.
Brown felt the information should have stayed in-house and fined the American.
