Vaughan loan ruled out

Everton manager David Moyes has ruled out allowing teenage sensation James Vaughan to leave the club on loan in the near future.

The 18-year-old is finally nearing full fitness after a serious knee injury and was close to coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last weekend.

Moyes told the Daily Post: "At the moment I wouldn't be putting James out on loan.

"I was going to put him on against Bolton and his form has looked much better in the last couple of weeks for the reserves.

"I've got him about the place and I hope he's going to keep progressing.

"Maybe once we get people back, it might be different. But at the moment, I can't do it with the numbers we have."

Vaughan's last first-team appearance came in August 2005 against Fulham.
