Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena is set to snub a move to the Premier League in order to play for Spanish side Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman impressed during his current side's unsuccessful challenge for the Ligue 1 title over the course of last season. A number of clubs from England's top-flight were rumoured to be interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old, but Valbuena would prefer a switch to La Liga. "Mathieu has seen all the offers and destinations, he had contact from Premier League clubs but he prefers Spain and Atletico Madrid," Valbuena's agent, Christophe Hutteau told, Rmc. "(Atletico is) a big team and good team in the UEFA Champions League." Despite his desire to move away from the Stade Velodrome, Marseille are thought to only be considering offers in the region of €7million.
