It's judgement night for Tottenham as they bid to reach the Champions League group stages for the first ever time. They must overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg against Young Boys at White Hart Lane tonight. We'll also bring you news from the Carling Cup second-round clashes.[LNB] Wednesday's Live ScoresChampions League play-off[LNB]Tottenham 2-0 Young Boys (7.45pm)[LNB]Carling Cup - second round[LNB]Accrington 0-0 Newcastle (7.45pm)[LNB]Everton 1-0 Huddersfield (8pm)[LNB]Fulham1-0 Port Vale (8pm)[LNB]20.17: GOAL! Tottenham 2-0 Young Boys[LNB]It's controversial but that is a fantastic finish from Jermain Defoe, he takes the ball down with what appears to be his arm but his turn and left shot past Wolfli's near post is sensational.[LNB]20.15: Gomes is gesturing to the bench to come off but extraordinary Harry Redknapp is begging him to stay on. Needless to say Carlo Cudicini is warming up.[LNB]20.14: It's wasted though as it goes straight out for a goal kick, meanwhile some goal sin the Carling Cup as Marouane Fellaini gives Everton the lead and Zoltan Gera does so likewise for Fulham.[LNB]20.12: Signs that Young Boys are starting to just creep back in to this one, as they are forcing mistakes from Tom Huddlestone and Wilson Palacios, they have won a free-kick on the right hand side in Spurs territory as well.[LNB]20.06: Young Boys clear, but Benoit Assou-Ekotto absolutley thumps it back towards goal with Ammar Jemel taking one for the team by taking one in the stomach which takes him down like a sack of potatoes.[LNB]20.05: Spurs have a free-kick deep on the right hand side, with Gareth Bale lining up a cross.[LNB]20.04: As is Everton-Huddersfield as Spurs continue to knock the ball around.[LNB]20.02: Not much action at White Hart Lane, but Fulham - Port Vale is underway.[LNB]19.59: First worry of the night for Spurs, Heurelho Gomes looks like he has pulled something in his leg and he receives treatment from the physio, he looks OK to continue for now. [LNB]19.57: The urgency has gone from Spurs' attack but they are keeping possession well at the moment and the Young Boys look like they are getting a little frustrated here with the keep ball play.[LNB]19.55: Ten minutes gone and Spurs are looking comfortable, worth noting though a Young Boys goal would immediately swing the momentum and it would be the Swiss side going through if they get a draw here tonight.[LNB]19.52: For the first time in the tie, Spurs lead, albeit via the away goals rule, a scenario that looked a million miles away after half an hour of the first leg.[LNB] Great start: Crouch's goal settled any early nerves[LNB]19.50: GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Young Boys[LNB]They are off and running, Young Boys fail to clear a corner and Gareth Bale's looping cross finds Peter Crouch who beats the offside trap and heads across Marco Wolfli's goal to give Spurs a dream start.[LNB]19.49: No sign of backs to the wall stuff from Young Boys, they are throwing people forward when they attack but no chances as yet.[LNB]19.46: Early free-kick 30 yards out for Young Boys then but unlike last week Spurs clear without any problems.[LNB]19.45: It's been a wet day in north London but the rain has now eased off as Young Boys get us underway.[LNB]19.43: Just in time, team news from Craven Cottage.[LNB]Fulham v Port ValeFulham: Stockdale, Pantsil, Hangeland, Hughes, Briggs, Gera, Murphy, Etuhu, Duff, Zamora, Dembele. Subs: Zuberbuhler, Kelly, Baird, Riise, Eddie Johnson, Dempsey, Greening.Port Vale: Tomlinson, Yates, Collins, McCombe, Owen, Griffith, Rigg, Roberts, Dodds, Justin Richards, Marc Richards. Subs: Martin, Robert Taylor, Fraser, Kris Taylor, Morsy, Malbon, Bell-Baggie.Referee: Andy Penn (W Midlands)[LNB]19.40: Specially laid flags placed on seats are flying EVERYWHERE at White Hart Lane, and with the players walking out the tunnel the noise is defining, certainly can't fault the presence of the Spurs fans so far.[LNB]19.35: Of course speaking of upsets anything but a Spurs win tonight will be an upset and at such an early stage of the season it shall be interesting to see if the north London side can rise to the must win challenge.[LNB]19.33: Some Carling Cup team news as well, just awaiting the line ups from Craven Cottage there.[LNB]Accrington Stanley v NewcastleAccrington Stanley: Dunbavin, Bateson, Hessey, Edwards, Winnard, Procter, Barnett, Ryan, Putterill, McConville, Parkinson. Subs: Cisak, Richardson, Joyce, Turner, Murphy, Boulding, Owens.Newcastle: Krul, Ryan Taylor, Kadar, Tavernier, Ferguson, Ranger, Donaldson, Vuckic, LuaLua, Ameobi, Lovenkrands. Subs: Cudicini,Kaboul, Jenas, Pavlyuchenko, Keane, Giovani, Kranjcar.Young Boys: Wolfli, Sutter, Costanzo, Tape Doubai, Bienvenu, Spycher, Lulic, Affolter, Degen, Hochstrasser, Jemal. Subs: Burki, Marco Schneuwly, De Pierro, Christian Schneuwly, Raimondi, Regazzoni, Mayuka.Referee: Laurent Duhamel (France)[LNB]19.26: A huge night of football is on the way this evening, with the main focus being on whether Spurs can defeat the Young Boys and break in to the Champions League group stages.[LNB]It's a pivotal moment for the club, success breeds success but failure to dispose the Swiss minnows could mean Harry Redknapp's side blow their golden chance of breaking in to Europe's elite.[LNB]That's not all though, updates will come through of the Carling Cup matches where Newcastle, Everton and Fulham will all hope to avoid upsets against lower league opposition.[LNB]Team news up in a sec, but fire away your thoughts on tonights action at dan.ripley@dailymail.co.uk[LNB] Big day: Young Boys stand in the way of Tottenham at White Hart Lane[LNB]  Don't blow it now!
