Tottenham to make improved bid for Everton's Steven Pienaar

Spurs want Everton's Steven Pienaar[LNB]Tottenham will make an improved offer for Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar on Tuesday.[LNB]Sportsmail revealed last week that the London club were preparing a bid for the South African and, after a week of informal discussions with Everton, a £5million offer was placed for the World Cup star on Monday.[LNB]That was quickly dismissed by Everton as derisory but Tottenham will make a renewed attempt later today.[LNB]Pienaar's representatives have made it clear to Everton that he willnot sign the contract that has been on offer at Goodison Park since the end of May andthat he is willing to see out  his current deal enabling him to leave for nothing next summer. [LNB] Pienaar has been committed to Everton's cause but yearns for achance to play in the Champions League again as he did at Ajax. He isalso believed to be concerned at the lack of funds manager David Moyeshas had this summer to turn Everton into contenders.  The club is aware of his frustrations and so are Tottenham.[LNB]Various players such as Robbie Keane and David Bentley have beensuggested in possible swap deals but Everton manager Moyes has rebuffedall offers. Despite, interest from Aston Villa, he is is determined torevive Everton's fortunes.
