Toffees keen on Howard
08 Dec 2006 - 11:51:55
Everton boss David Moyes is contemplating attempting to sign on loan goalkeeper Tim Howard permanently.
The USA international is currently on a season-long loan at Goodison Park from Manchester United and has impressed the Toffees boss with his consistent form.
"Tim has been excellent throughout," said Moyes. "It's taken him a little while to settle in and I think possibly get back to playing first-team games after missing so many for Manchester United.
"Now he's getting a game I think he's feeling better in himself.
"Obviously it brings out your own self confidence and self belief. He's doing well for us and it is rubbing off on the side.
"Come the end of the season we'll consider what the situation is, we don't see ourselves doing anything before then.
"We're grateful to Manchester United for giving him to us on loan and we'll keep assessing Tim as we go along.
"At the moment we are pleased with what's going on but obviously he's still Manchester United's player and we are borrowing him just now.
"But hopefully Tim is enjoying himself and we'll see how things go."
