Toffees earn Moyes praise

Everton boss David Moyes was full of praise for his players after they made it two wins out of two with a fine 3-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Joleon Lescott, Leon Osman and Alan Stubbs gave the Toffees a well-deserved win at White Hart Lane and made it six points out of six, following their 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

A buoyant Moyes said: "We got fourth three seasons ago. We're going to do the best we can, but I'm not going to come out and say we are going to do that.

"We don't have that expectation and I don't need to burden the players or myself with it. But I'll probably make myself think that I should.

"I really thought we played well, the effort and work-rate was incredible.

"The back four did well because this is a tough place. You have to keep your discipline and concentration."
