Everton have confirmed that they have agreed new long-term deals with influential midfield duo Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill.
The players have agreed new five-year contracts that will keep them at Goodison Park until June 2012.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright told the club's official website: "David Moyes and myself were keen to get these important extensions wrapped up before the new season opens.
"We did it in the Everton way - quietly, efficiently and away from the glare of the spotlight.
"Negotiations have been ongoing for several weeks and have now been satisfactorily concluded and I know the two lads are as happy as we are."
Arteta has scored 13 goals in 89 appearances since moving to Merseyside from Real Sociedad, initially on loan, in January 2005.
The 25-year-old Spanish midfielder also played for Rangers earlier in his career and was on the books of Barcelona.
Australia international Cahill has found the net 27 times in 98 games for Moyes' side since his arrival at Goodison from Millwall three years ago.
