Toffees confirm Vaughan op
18 Dec 2008 - 10:55:51
Everton have confirmed that striker James Vaughan has finally undergone surgery to repair the damage to his right knee.
The 20-year-old had to wait for the operation after surgeon Dr Richard Steadman was injured in a skiing accident, but the surgery has now been completed.
Everton assistant manager Steve Round told the club's official website: "James had his operation yesterday and everything went very well.
"We now wish him a speedy recovery and, hopefully, he should be fit before the end of the season.
"But we will have to keep a tab on that and see how it goes over the next few weeks."
Vaughan has made just ten starts for the Toffees to date, having seen his fledgling career badly affected by a number of injury problems.
