Toffees ace progressing well
10 Apr 2009 - 11:22:44
Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that that Mikel Arteta is progressing well from his season-ending cruciate knee ligament injury.
The Spanish midfielder picked up the injury in the goalless draw with Newcastle United in February and is facing at least six months on the sidelines.
"(Physio) Baz (Rathbone) has been out to see Mikel and from what he has told me, the initial stage of his recovery is going well," Moyes told the club's official website.
"I have also spoken to Mikel and he seems to be quite positive in his frame of mind. He is staying with his parents in Spain for the time being.
"I think he will come back here at some point in the next few weeks but when that is, I don't know.
"Mikel has his own private trainer in Spain and he is looking after him.
"But he is under the orders of the surgeons at the minute not to do too much. It's early days but we know he is fine and that the operation went well."
