Toffees trio sign new deals

Everton have been handed a major boost with the news Phil Jagielka, Tim Howard and Joseph Yobo have all signed contract extensions.[LNB] The talented trio were targeted by boss David Moyes as players he wished to tie down to long-term deals, and the Scot has wasted little time in securing their services.[LNB]Jagielka, the club's player of the year, is currently sidelined having suffered a serious injury to his cruciate ligament and confirmation of Everton's continued faith in his ability will be a major fillip ahead of a hard summer of rehabilitation.[LNB]Goalkeeper Howard has proved to be an inspired piece of business on Moyes' part since joining the club from Manchester United, initially on-loan, in the 2006/07 campaign.[LNB]Although Nigeria international Yobo has had to play second fiddle to Jagielka for much of the past campaign, he has proved to be a reliable performer whenever called upon and Moyes is clearly delighted to have the trio commit their futures to Everton.[LNB]Exciting future"It's great that three valuable members of the squad have committed themselves to the club for a lengthy period," Moyes told the club's official website.[LNB]"Tim, Phil and Joseph have been big players for us over the last few years and it's great news that they will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.[LNB]"I have been pleased with the way we've gone about our business.[LNB]"We spoke to Phil, Tim and Joseph and we got everything done and dusted efficiently and quietly, which is the way we like things to be done."[LNB]
