Toffees shouldn't stress - Osman
Everton midfielder Leon Osman says his side must relax if they are going to get their first win of the season in the Premier League.[LNB] The Toffees were held 1-1 by Wolves at the weekend after being beaten by Blackburn on the opening day of the campaign.[LNB]David Moyes' men were guilty of a slow start last term, and it ultimately cost them a place in the Europa League as they could only manage an eighth-place finish in the top-flight.[LNB]Osman, 29, believes everyone at Goodison Park is desperate for that first victory, and says it will come in its own time.[LNB]"Everyone is desperate for that first win. The fans, ourselves, everyone. We're all so desperate for that, but we need to relax and let it come. We're a good team and it will come," he told the Liverpool Echo.[LNB]"You'd have to say this will be one of the most competitive seasons ever. Teams like Blackburn and Wolves, most teams in the league, are going to scrap their way towards points.[LNB]"We've always said there are no easy games in the Prem but this season it's truer than ever. It'll be tough. Teams will fight and are capable of getting points."[LNB]Tim Cahill had given Everton the lead on Saturday but Wolves equalised in the second half and hung on for a valuable point.[LNB]Osman added: "I think we started well, the way we wanted to play and the tempo was spot on and going well.[LNB]"There were some dubious decisions but it's disappointing for us to have had so much control in the first half and come away without all three points.[LNB]"It's very disappointing. We've only got one point from six but the season is 38 games long. There are 36 left and we need to get up and running as quickly as we can, and once we hit our stride we'll be a force to be reckoned with.[LNB]"We need to work harder in training until we get going."[LNB]Meanwhile, it is understood Victor Anichebe is in talks with Everton over a new deal.[LNB]Anichebe, who has come through the ranks at Everton, has one year left on his current contract at Goodison Park.[LNB]Everton are keen to tie down the talented forward to a new long-term contract to ward off potential suitors with a number of sides thought to be monitoring his situation[LNB]The Nigeria international is highly rated within the corridors of power at Goodison and they see Anichebe as a key member of the club's long-term future.[LNB]Anichebe has made 76 appearances and scored seven goals for Everton and the Toffees are hoping to quickly agree a deal for the striker.
