Toffees Plan Yobo Talks

Everton are set to open talks with Joseph Yobo over a new deal at Goodison Park.[LNB]Yobo has just over a year to run on his current deal with his contract due to expire in 2010.[LNB]The Nigerian international, who was David Moyes' first signing in charge of the club, has established himself as a key member of the squad since his arrival from Marseille in 2002.[LNB]Moyes admits the club will look at the central defender's contract siuation in the near future.[LNB]"We haven't spoken about Joe's contract at the moment," Moyes told the Liverpool Echo. "That's something we'll be looking at I'm sure." [LNB]Yobo is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem, but Moyes insists the injury is not too serious and that he could be back in action within three weeks.[LNB]"He had a sore back and he did a bit of training with us," added Moyes. "But then he felt his hamstring, so we had it scanned and it looks as though it's a grade one tear. [LNB]"It shouldn't keep him out for too long but I'll be hoping to get him back within three weeks."[LNB]
