Everton have finalised a deal to land German starlet Shkodran Mustafi. The 16-year-old defender is very highly rated and was in the German Under-17 side that humbled England 4-0 last week. Hamburg were desperate to keep Mustafi at the Nodrbank Arena, but he has instead agreed a deal to move to Everton on a three-year deal. The German outfit are less than pleased with the Toffees for landing Mustafi. "We really tried to keep Shkodran at our club, but when there is a club from England coming up we are unable and unwilling to compete financially," Jens Todt, head of the youth academy at Hamburg, told Hamburger Abendblatt. "It's it tough to accept, but it will not destroy us. "We are just hoping this is not going to happen too often again." Mustafi himself admitted it was a tough choice to make. "This is an important step in my career," he said. "I was a bit down when making the decision."
