Goalkeeper Tim Howard has given his approval to the possibility of countryman Landon Donovan returning to Everton in the New Year.[LNB] The USA skipper has publicly admitted he could rejoin the Merseysiders in the January transfer window after enjoying a successful loan spell with the Premier League side last season.[LNB]The LA Galaxy midfielder made 10 league appearances for the Goodison Park club, scoring two goals, and was named as the fans' player of the month for January.[LNB]And international team-mate Howard believes Everton would benefit from acquiring Donovan's service once again.[LNB]He told the Liverpool Echo: "It was one of those weird situations where it seemed to work for everyone, which is not always the case with business and football.[LNB]"The manager got a fantastic player, the fans loved him, he played well, and MLS and Galaxy didn't lose a whole lot.[LNB]"It was off season and he got a chance to play at a high level. I don't see why it can't happen again this year. We enjoyed it and so did he."[LNB]Donovan's has hinted the idea of going on loan again to Everton in January would be hard to resist.[LNB]The 28-year-old said: "It would be hard to say no. I really hope that, if it's not this year, I get to go back there and play again.[LNB]"But if you asked me now I would lean towards a little more uncertainty. It's hard for me to say as I've had a really long year. But we'll see after a few week's rest and we'll see how it goes."[LNB]But Donovan admits a lack of rest during the Major League Soccer close season could prove a stumbling block.[LNB]"Last time when David Moyes called I was extremely excited about it and I just have to make sure that I get the appropriate rest," he said.[LNB]"When I was there I felt loved and accepted and I think they appreciate the way I play."
